Dr. Bülent Gümüş holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) and earned his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in the same field from Texas Tech University. Dr. Gümüş has a total of 28 years of experience in both the private sector and academia, including 15 years in Turkey, 12 years in the United States, and 1 year in Qatar.
He has 16 years of experience in prestigious organizations operating in the defense industry and R&D fields, such as BAE Systems Inc., OnBoard Software, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, and Milsoft, serving as an Engineer, Project Manager, Program Manager, Business Development Consultant, and Senior Advisor to the President.
In his academic career, Dr. Gümüş served as a full-time faculty member at TOBB University of Economics and Technology and Qatar University. He has also lectured as a visiting faculty member at Texas Tech University, Bilkent University, Hacettepe University, and TED University, delivering courses on new product and system design, business analysis and design, project management, and engineering economics. He has conducted research in these fields and published internationally recognized scientific works.
He is currently the General Manager of Systematic Innovation Management, a company he co-founded, which owns the innoCentrum and Girişim Pusulası brands. Within this role, he provides training and consultancy services in R&D, innovation, entrepreneurship, project management, and strategic planning to leading Turkish companies from various sectors, including Aselsan, Havelsan, Türksat, Hayat Kimya, Beyçelik, Arlight, and Lokman Hekim University.
Dr. Gümüş also serves as an Investment Committee Member at Fonbulucu, Turkey’s leading crowdfunding platform, and at İvedik Venture Capital Investment Fund (GSYF).
He offers training, mentorship, and consulting services in areas such as new product/system design, innovation management, technology management, entrepreneurship, strategic planning, and project management. By blending the knowledge, experience, and skills he has gained from different disciplines, cultures, companies, and universities, he delivers high-quality, impactful, and interactive consulting and training service.
