EVENTECO aims to simplify event creation and management for users who are ambitious about sustainability and preserving the planet. The application will allow individuals to create, plan, organize, invite and join a wide variety of events categorized based on global sustainability concerns. The events can be created by individual users, or organizations alike. This will become a single, social platform for like-minded individuals who wish to partake in activities that will directly tackle different socio-environmental and sustainability issues. These issues and themes include, but are not limited to, climate change, deforestation, poverty, hunger, education, health, pollution and waste management, water scarcity, energy consumption and other related issues. Some examples of sustainability events that can be created and joined through EVENTECO are trash pickups, plantation drives, donation drives, recycling and awareness campaigns, endeavors such as earth hours to conserve power, blood donation campaigns, old book exchanges between students for books they do not need anymore, peer tutoring sessions, collaborative cooking days to sell homemade sustainable food, lecture series on socio-environmental topics, voluntary teaching at charity schools/organizations and many more. Users can directly join events, or choose to donate money or resources to an event, based on the requirements of the event maker. EVENTECO will not only encourage individuals to contribute to their environment sufficiently but will also incorporate the social media craze of the current generation by providing a user-friendly and interactive platform, where, aside from creating and managing events and meet and greets, they can also discuss social and environmental issues. EVENTECO will become the pivot around which people passionate about saving the earth are able to establish a community that not only raises awareness on modern sustainability problems but also uses its own resources to tackle them.
